A trip Bonifacio High Street + Meeting a Nuffie at Nuffnang Headquarters

The moment I received Nuffnang PH's announcement regarding their 15 winners of Tattoo pocket wifi + a prepaid card worth 500, I really decided to go to their headquarters to claim it (even though my mom didn't want me to claim it, saying it was JUST a pocket wifi and prepaid card), by the way, you can read my entry here. Luckily, I have a friend who lives nearby Bonifacio High Street and was able to get a tour of the beautiful area (check out her blog here: Batang Bahete). Too bad I wasn't able to take any photo while I was there except the photo at Nuffnang PH.

The feeling of being able to go to Bonifacio High Street alone (well, technically, I wasn't) was fulfilling. Walking from Market Market to Building 5 was tiring but the view of the beautiful architecture around was buoyant. By the way, I was also able to see South Korean embassy and Brittish embassy, which looked like a tilted domino, and also, SM Aura, as my friend said, looked like a yacht which I can't perceive at all.

Back to my escapade around Bonifacio High Street, after a few minutes of walking under the scorching hot sun, we reached our destination, Building 5. Up the second floor we went and to Nuffnang's headquarters. There we were welcomed by a beautiful Nuffie, she asked for my I.D. and then gave me my prizes, took a photo of me with my prizes then we took off. Our visit to Nuffnang PH was brief but it was fun.

Then my friend and I went to Fully Booked and wandered around. Checked some books, some albums, some comics, and then we went to Starbucks on the third floor. Talked about some stuff then we took off.

It was a tiring but great experience. It's the first time that this blog had an achievement, I guess CrookedCrayons' finally taking off. Thanks to Nuffnang again for the opportunity and for choosing my entry. To tell you guys honestly, I wasn't expecting to win anything, I thought I had 0% chance of winning something and just joined and made my entry just for the sake of sharing. Ahoy, it's the Flying Dutchman!

I have just recently found out about Flying Dutchman Shoes through a friend who invited me to come visit their new boutique at Bluebay Walk at MetroPark. I didn't mind visiting their store since I'm also looking for good button-downs and cheap boots/shoes, and there I stood inside the store. Astonished to what was before me. It was heaven for people with tall thin built like me. I've been looking for that Korean style look, I tried Uniqlo but, their sizes aren't fit for me, but this, it's like, everything's been made for me.

Their current line of clothes are just, wallet-ripper. By that, I mean, you'd be there throwing all your money away for everything. Being inside the store makes you feel that you need one of everything, or at least, that was how I felt. From their line of button-downs with beautiful patterns and those buttons, they didn't call them button-downs for nothing. Even the buttons are as fashionable as the whole shirt!

Their walking shorts- I just cant, it's the right fit I have always been looking for. The shorts' cloth feels good when you wear it, the fit is nice, the only problem I have with them was, they were too short for me, or for my height, I suppose, or maybe I am not used to seeing that much skin on me. But I still like it tho. If you're going to visit them, try those walking shorts, they're very comfy.

Their line of shoes, which was the highlight of the store, is amazing as amazing could be. Their boots feels nice when you wear them. Their designs are classic and fashionable and comfortable. All the things you want in your shoes. They range at about PHP 1500.00 - PHP 2000.00. What I really loved in their shoes section was their brogues and those boots. Those brogues makes the vin in vintage. Truly, a comfy fashion store for less.

Oh yeah, before I forgot, they also have rockin' rucksacks with different unique patterns. I've been looking for bags as awesome like this and were only able to find at online stores, but now, I can see them personally, hold them, feel their awesomeness. All of that for the price of PHP 1450.00 approx.

These are just some of the amazing merchandise the Flying Dutchman can offer you. Really, a one-stop shop for fashionable guys. But don't worry ladies, the Flying Duchess is just around the other side.

Keeping up with the Flying Dutchman, the Duchess has amazing things to offer as well. They also have that classic vintage fashion look for the ladies.

UST Paskuhan 2013

It's my first time being a Thomasian to attend the ever-awesome and most awaited event in UST both by the students and other schools nearby. I was actually hesitant on coming at first since it'll be until 12 MN or until 1 AM and I still have to commute back to Cavite and the traffic at that time would be too congested for anyone to travel that far. Luckily, a friend offered his house and I decided to go without thinking twice.

The Paskuhan Christmas Tree's concept for this year was ethnic materials(I'm not sure tho) but it sure was beautiful at night. This year, it was yellow.

The bazaar was filled with lots of food stores and also other hobby and designer stuffs. The walking space was small though, expecting that huge number of people going, and it was hard to walk through the bazaar by the time the program started.

The lights in the trees made the Benavides Park and the other roads beside it. It was hard to see Beato from afar since UST lighted everything in the field, in the park, while Beato was left, unlighted with Christmas stuff. It was nice waiting for the "lights on" before the day of Paskuhan, it was magical and mystical and wonderful. Days before the Paskuhan, I stayed till 9PM and it made me forget about the time, made me forget that I have to go home already. It'll make you feel the need to stay.

University of Santo Tomas Main Building

The Main Building was well-lighted and they had fireworks on the day they lighted it. It's a bummer that I didn't stay when they did, shame. Anyway, in this photo, the Yellow Jackets were prepping for their performance of all the university cheers and the hymn. It was an amazing performance and the people's participation was amazing (emphasis on the irony that I wasn't even participating at all and was like, 'What are we standing here for?').

The UST Grand Stand and the concert, pretty much be explained by these photos. The rain fell, but it didn't stop the party. Not even the weather can ruin the fun Paskuhan can envoke. I wasn't able to watch the concert because it was too wet so I we went to Rockband instead.

And the people after the rain, the drizzle, and a little more rain. Me and my friends weren't prepared for this, so we kept standing the whole night and had our shoes buried in the mud. This is one of the reasons I didn't get on the field, I was happy with the view I have from where I was standing during the concert.

Anyways, pardon my very informal blog post. I wanted to blog about my very first Paskuhan as soon as possible. Anyways, all credits to my friend's camera, some shots are by me, some are by my friends. Anywho, for those who expected and waited for the fireworks, UST preferred on donating the money they'll be spending on it on the victims of Yolanda. See you in the coming Paskuhans.

UST will be moving it's school calendar and our opening of classes for next year will be in June, in line with this, the colleges' semestral break will be moved on the whole month of December, we, Thomasians, will not be able to see the preparations for the Paskuhan as we used to but there will still be Paskuhan. Let's just wait for further information regard the new school calendar. Though, I still have immediate issue I have to attend to, our college cut-off.
