Wednesday: Firsts

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

Wednesdays has always been a very notable day in my life. First, we don't have classes on Wednesdays, my mom and dad's prayer meeting is every Wednesday,  Christmas day last year was on a Wednesday, my birthday two years ago was on a Wednesday, and this Wednesday, I got to do a lot of things.

I can call this day, a day of my "Firsts". I got to do things I have never done or experienced before, today, ride a train, ice skate and going to the mall with these wonderful people. Despite losing my precious wallet, and asking my mom to lend me money, today was pretty much, one of my best days in my college life so far.

I don't really ride trains because I don't have to, and I don't want to try riding one alone. But today, I got to try riding on LRT 1 from Quirino Station to EDSA Station. The ride was brief, but still notable. Just for the sake of sharing, I didn't know I'll be needing the ticket AGAIN to leave the station and placed mine in the depths of my bag and actually thought of resorting to buying another ticket again just so I could leave and ride a shuttle to Mall of Asia already, but I didn't and just looked for my ticket.

With all the Frozen feels, in spite of all the falls and broken bones I have, it was fun. Ice skating was fun, walking on ice was fun. It took me around two hours before I got the vibe of it, I know I wasn't graceful as I should be,  it was nice, gliding-walking was nice. I didn't mind falling a lot while skating, as long as I can get up, I'll keep trying.

And here we are, with all our might, with all our blisters and bruises and some broken bones. I had fun, we had fun. At least now, I can tell my mom I can skate. I will comeback and skate again, I don't mind my broken bones, I'll get used to the blisters, I'll skate.

  4. I like how you did your "Japan-Japan Peace sign" pose, beside a japanese looking guy. LOL Anyway, we've all got our Wednesday Firsts that most of us wouldn't exactly notice them and remember. But i'm glad you did yours and thats how it should be no matter how simple it is. :)

    1. I did. I'm planning to do it regularly from now on, until I can do it gracefully and with ease.

  8. I also do not want riding trains because there are so many people inside and there are robbers we're all afraid of.

  10. Yes it's really hard to skate. I remember skating for the first time in Megamall (back when it was in the old building) and I kept falling hehehe XD

  14. I haven't tried ice skating, because whenever we're in Manila it's only for a short time and for lay over. We'll try one in MOA if gotten a chance
